Product Manager
We are looking for a passionate Product Manager to work closely with our Design and Engineering teams, as well as the broader business in developing best-in-class mortgage technology solutions.
LendInvest is the UK’s leading FinTech platform for property finance. Over the past 16 years, we have grown from just our two founders to a team of over 200 working to make property finance simple for everyone.
A workplace culture built around trying new things, getting things done, and having fun while we do it has helped us lend more than £7 billion of mortgages, put thousands of new or improved homes into the UK housing market, and successfully launch on the London Stock Exchange. We have big plans to continue growing the business, our products, our technology, and our people.
About your work
Your mission will be to build the roadmap for our future vision and deliver the features needed to get there. You’ll be passionate about product and agree that it should be at the centre of everything the business does. Working closely with Design, Engineering and the full organisation you’ll develop best-in-class solutions that are not only functional but fully address the users’ needs.
What you’ll be doing
Own the backlog: prioritise the features we deliver, based on a sound understanding of what is important to our customers. Pushback and say ‘no’ when changes don’t align with the product’s vision or aren’t a priority right now.
Product and market understanding: use data and feedback mechanisms, like user interviews and surveys, to learn from the changes we make. Share learnings across the business and ensure it informs what we do next. Understand how your products are used and how to get the most value out of them.
Deliver great products: work closely with Design and Engineering (Backend, Frontend, Salesforce) to create the right solutions, delivered quickly and iteratively, which our customers and business teams are excited to use. This will often be new to the market and set us apart from competitors.
Write solid user stories: be responsible for the quality of the stories created, ensuring they are at the right level of detail and understood. More than this, features will be broken down into small deliverables to test the water and iterate quickly.
Collaborate constantly: lead collaboration of a close-knit and cross-functional team leveraging all the stakeholders you require to deliver the right solution for our customers. Fully embrace agile by trialling new approaches and presenting new found knowledge to the Product and Design team.
What you’ll have
Proven product management experience: a track record of successfully launching and scaling customer-facing products in a fast-paced environment.
You’re passionate about product: you’ve solved new and complex problems and see this as a positive challenge that’s part of any feature development. You take an active interest in developments of other products and how they could be applied to your products.
You like talking numbers: you put data at the heart of all decisions you make and prioritise changes that will make the biggest impact. You are familiar with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, FullStory, Metabase, Tableau. You use them to define project KPIs upfront and validate whether benefits have been achieved.
You are an excellent communicator across all levels: you use these skills to break down complex problems and influence stakeholders to come around to your way of thinking, often using data to support your perspective.
You use agile methodologies effectively: you have experience in writing complex user stories and working in agile with in-house development teams to deliver efficiently with short cycle times. You are willing to try different approaches and tweak them when they do not work the first time.
You act in an entrepreneurial manner: you require little structure and can act autonomously when driving the performance of your product forward.
You are intrigued with how people use the systems: you are constantly asking ‘why’ and striving to make system interactions more enjoyable and efficient. Ideally you’d have experience working on CRMs (i.e. Salesforce) and customer-facing portals.
